Douglass Hull Dyslexia Fund

Dyslexia Awareness

ACS received a bequest from the late Douglas Hull specifically to set up a fund to support local school children with dyslexia who face challenges in their learning. Douglas was himself dyslexic and experienced difficulties during his school years. It was for this reason that Douglas felt strongly that our young people be supported in their learning, helping them overcome the challenges of dyslexia.

ACS are working closely with the schools within our catchment area to provide targeted funding in resources for the classrooms and dyslexia and special educational needs related training for educational staff.

The fund will be distributed over the next ten years or so, and it is hoped will make a significant difference to those children in need of that little bit of extra support.

To find out more about how to access funding for your school please contact our Secretary via our contact page.
